A recent acquisition, the car was missing a thermostat.
Put one in several days ago. Problem I am about to
describe still occurs but at a frequency of only about 10% of before I installed the thermostat.

Engine would stall as I was coming to a stop in hot weather (temp over 90 degrees). Gauge in car read mid-range. I would have to wait 10-60 minutes before car could restart and it would then run smoothly. No other pattern that I could determine. Seemed as if temperature sensor (the one to the computer) was signaling the comnputer to shut down to avoid possible overheating (or unusual temperature variations). For several days after putting in thermostat the problem didn't appear. Now it is happening again (BUT MUCH LESS FREQUENTLY) and, of course, always at the worst possible time. Coolant level is fine.

HELP. What do I do next? :( : : :

Check between the radiator and the a/c conderser for a blanket of road debris. Clean out as needed. If nothing found check fuel pump pressure.
