2002 Mercury Marquis Intermittently the power windows

Intermittently the power windows fail to raise or lower. It can be any of the windows. As I activate the switches on the drivers door I hear the click of the switch and the relay(s). But the windows do not move. All the windows fail to operate at the same time. After trying various windows, they all start working again. Any ideas what is in common with all the windows other than the door switches?

Other than the door switch, the only thing could be power to the main switch on the driver's door. Have you checked for that when it doesn't work?
