2001 Mercury Marquis Too much oil

What could happen to my car if you drive your car if someone overfilled the oil capartmen. I'm having trouble with my check egine light and the code said it was the EGR valve and I replaced it but after 80 miles the light came back on so I was checking my fluids and my wife told me when she put oil in she went above the required marks and this is when the light came on. The car is running fine it just wont pass emissions test.

could have excessive blowby and fill the air filter with oil. it could also make its way into the idle valve tps and the egr.
