I was told I have a Hub Bearing on the front drivers side that is going bad. The mechanic said he could tighten it to make it last a little longer. Is this even possible?

Hi:
If there is play in the bearing, it can be tightened, but it won't last because they shouldn't be over tightened. I recommend replacing the bearing and tightening it to the manufacturer's specs.
