the heater core is working i can feal it getting hot and blowing slight warmth while sitting still but the air is cold when you drive. it seams like the door to change from cold (vent) to heat is not opening or closing

The most likely cause from what you describe, would be a vacuum leak with the Heat/Cold Air Door, could be a leak in one of the vacuum lines or the vacuum motor that controls this door.
