Electrical problem
1991 Mercury Marquis Two Wheel Drive 90,000 miles

Both front window will go down with help and come back up. I believe the plastic gears on the motor are on the way out. I have the door panel off and the speaker removed so I can reach in to the motor. How is the motor removed from this point. I looks like the whole assembly is rivited to the inside door panel...do these have to be drilled out, or can the motor be simply unbolted from the assembly somehow by access through the speaker hole?

They are rivited in place and need drilled out. Replace the rivits with nuts and bolts.
