1985 Mercury Marquis

i got into wreck and busted a tire. i drove on tired till i got to my house. by the time i got there it was hard for me to turn and it seemed like my steering wheel or tires locked. when i fixed my tire, i tried to leave but the steering wheel was real loose and turned all the way around then it got hard. then i realized that my tires didn't turn at first until it got hard and i was turning wheel like i didn't have any power steering. i tried to drive it but my tires wouldn't turn and my steering wheel was not coordinating with the turning i was doing. what could be wrong?
