my turn singles went bad?

i have a 2001 cougar and my turn singles went bad and this guy at auto zone told me that the thermal load flasher could be the problem but he couldn't tell me where it was located and i was wondering if anyone could tell me where it was.

Hello,

The turn signal relay is located on the fuse box located on the left side of the kick panel on driver side (see diagram).

Do you hear any clicking noise when you activate the signal?
Does your hazard work?

First do a visual inspection of the relay. Check for corrosion or bunt pin(s). Many times the relay will fail internally.
