2000 Mercury Cougar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

last night i had to panic stop to avoid a deer. after the stop, my pedal is nearly to the floor. no sign of fluid leaks, just a weak pedal. any suggestions on where to start?

Brake or ABS light on? Is pedal low to floor? Can it be pumped up?
