Hi, I bought a used 2000 cougar, it did not come with the remote, so I ordered one. Problem is I cannot get it to program, I believe they sent me the wrong programing for it. Does anyone know how to program the remote?

I found mine off ebay.I could not understand the directions on how to do it either.So I went down to the Ford Dealership and they programed it for me.Its simple.You turn the ignition from off to run 4 times within 6 seconds and you wait for you red alarm light on your dash to blink repeatedly.turn the car to off mode.You then push one of the buttons on the keyless remote and it should work.If not take it to the Ford dealership.They done it free for me no charge.
