1999 Mercury Cougar stop lights innoperative

I replace a new brake light switch and checked the wiring to the switch 12 volts are available at the connector but no brake lights,scanner shows me the there is a mudule that switches ground to enable brake stop lights,how do you confirm that there is a actual module problem and where is the location of it

Welcome to the forum, our info showed two possibilities for the wiring circuit, with and without bulb outage module, if that is what your talking about?. The top violet wire is voltage to the module, if you have one. The other violet and violet with black tracer is voltage for left and right lamp assembly, brake lite. Whether you actually have that module, I don't know?
