1996 Mercury Cougar occasionally blows bluish white smoke

blows bluish white smoke typically more at an idle and in colder weather. i think it's burning too much oil but not real sure. It's tuned up really well and runs great. could you give me your take about it please.

Hi there,

Best you do an oil composition test. This is best done with fresh oil and filter fitted. Have the oil exactly on the full mark, Drive normally for 100Km or Miles , re check and measure what oil required to fill back to full mark. Do this and report results first.
