Please be patient as im new at this, just inadvertantly logged off. Any way, my cougar cranks a little longer than normal. The car once started runs like a champ! The check engine light was on but went off after I replaced a bad battery. I cant see a port for diagnostic plug. Car was manf. In canada. It doesent crank as if it is having a hard time; just alittle longer. Would appreciate any HELP! Thanks ALEX.

When was the last tune up? Fuel filter? Its due. Might also have the fuel pressure checked to be sure it isnt bleeding down due to a weak pump, injector or regulator
