Air Conditioning problem
1995 Mercury Cougar V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

compressor clutch engages when connector at the accumalator is jumpered but does not give cold air.Does that switch turn on the freon? and how is it replaced? Thanks

I took it to a midas shop, they charged it and the compressor still did not kick on. they told me it was the CCRM. it was not, thats when i found by jumping that connector the compressor came on. do you think that those guys are a bunch quacks?

maybe the switch your jumpering is low pressure cutout. Go to parts house get R134A kit will have gague hookup fill AC blower on high door open till psi is 35to 47.
