1991 Mercury Cougar odometer

I have a 91 Cougar LS and the odometer use to stop and start ramdomly. Recently we changed the oil, and did nothing we don't do on a weekly basis under the hood. The odometer has not wooked since. Any ideas?

Never mind guys I found it(i guess some times it takes a girl) but I have another problem. My brake pedal tends to go all the way down on its own. Sometimes all by its self and other times I just touch it lightly. Master cylinder? Brake booster? Other? Please help me! Its almost winter and that kind of problem would make a life or death difference when snow is on the road.
