1988 Mercury Cougar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

WHAT WOULD MAKE MY 1988 COUGAR POUR GAS OUT OF THE INTAKE WRE YOU PUT THE BRETHER HOSE ON AFTER TRING TO START IT

This would be a leaking fuel pressure regulator or injector.

You'll have to hook up a pressure gauge while your key is on/engine off.

If the pressure doesn't hold steady for at least 15-minutes, then something is leaking.

Pinch off the fuel return line from the FPR back to the tank. If this stops the leak-down, then it's the FPR that's leaking.

If pressure continues to bleed off, then it's one/more of the injectors.
