my passanger side wiper moves ok put the driverside dosn't. I can't see under the metal to see if something is disconnected

you can pull up the metal cap at the base of the windshield wiper to reveal a nut on a bolt. this nut has probably just loosened. It happens to me all the time, i just pull out the handy crescent wrench and tighten it up, then it works like a charm.
