Starting up problem

My car wont start up without gas, if I do not give it gas it just cranks. After giving it gas it starts up and brings a cloud of black smoke out of it, after that everything is normal.

If you are getting a puff of black smoke, that indicates it's getting too much fuel. What I recommend is checking fuel pump pressure to make sure the regulator is working. Here is a link that shows how in general pressure is tested:
