We have two older MB, 97 SL500 and 99 ML430. Both require Premium Gas. Q: Will it hurt either to use regualr gas or even alternate regular and premium. Premium Gas prices are killing us old farts! Thank you, David and Rosemary

I have many clients that use regular gas instead of premium. Although as a MB tech I would never recommend the use of regular, I can say that from my experience I cannot remember any vehicles that have had abnormal operation due to fuel grade. Keep in mind however, if you plan on using regular gas make sure you are using a quality gasloline like Chevron, Shell, Mobil, etc. Cheap gas will cause many headaches in a MB.
