I have a 84' Mercedes 500SL. It ran hot in the summer so I ran straight water in it. I parked it for the fall and forgot about it while I hade it parked and I was driving my SUV. We had some freezing temps here. I went to start it the other day and nothing. New battery and still nothing. Im not sure if its because of the water or a voltage problem. When I try to crank it does nothing. My interior lights will dim when I try to crank. The car drove fine when parked.

Check battery condition and charge, check all battery terminal connections are clean and tight, remove spark plugs and try to crank engine, if no action, test for voltage at starter solenoid terminal (with key on crank)and battery voltage at main starter terminal. If that is ok, problem in starter, if no power at solinoid check starter relay.
