What will I tear up doing that. and how do I do it so I don't What parts do I need to repair the door panel to put them back on. I don't know what I need to fix the window til I get the panels off with as little damage as possible. Thank you Mike F.

BY chance I removed the rear door panel on my 1988 190e last night to check my rear window that wasn't working.

Do this by removing:
(1) the plastic guard by the door latch
(2) the plastic guard found where the door pull (armrest) attaches to the door itself
(3) the door lock stem
(4) the door handle (on my car it pulled forward and then out, releasing the mechanism inside)

Then the entire panel lifted UP and off. There were four or five plastic guides that held the panel in place.

Good luck. My window regulator was completely shot so I have to replace it. Likely the one on the other side, too.
