1987 190E 2.3, I don't know what the mileage is, but, it is very high.
My question is: the engine knocks when I accelerate and I don't have any power. Also the other day when I was stopped at a stop light with my foot on the brake, the car sort of jumped forward a few times. I love my car, but, I know it is old, should I get rid of it or fix it?

Thank you,
DEE

If it is a heavy metallic knock it may be the bottom end of your engine gone bad. If you like the car. look into a used engine if that's what it turns out to be. Don't put this off, get it looked at.
