no crank/start

1994 mercedes benz C280, 141,000. 6 cylinder 2.8
had car for 7 years no problems, today I went to start it and wouldn't,tried in neutral and started fine, shut it off and now it won't start in park or neutral,battery is good,lights,radio it just won't crank at all
can you help please??

I would check the neutral safety switch for a start.
