I OWN A SUV ML320 1998, 110,000 MILES WITH A V6 ENGINE, MY PROBLEM AS FOLLOW: A/C WAS WORKING PERFECT HOWEVER STARTED TO GO ON AND OFF, AND I WAS WONDERING THIS COULD BE A SWITCH OR A ELECTRICAL SHORT, STILL SOMETIMES WORK BUT NOW DIDNT COME BACK ON. ANYBODY THERE FOR SUGGESTION.

It is very common for blower motor regulators to fail in MB vehicles. Check the operation to narrow down th issue. If the fan only blows on certain speeds and not others you can be almost certain it is the blower motor regulator. If it is cutting in and out randomly your blower motor is probably heating up too much and causing the motor to cut out, In this case you will need to replace the blower motor.
