Fan blade rubbing

I have a 1986 mercedes benz 300E. The fan blade is rubbing against the engine block making a loud noise like a card in your bike spoaks when you were a kid But louder. When you to push the the blade in it seems to rock about the center of the hub. Please advise!!!

Sounds like the fan clutch has gone bad, or the water pump. does the fan wobble only on its mount or does the entire shaft that the fan is on move?If just the fan then the clutch has gone bad

I think it's the entire shaft. you can push the fan blade in anywhere around the center of the shaft.
