car wont crank

1979 300d unknown milage turned car off went to restart later would not crank. charged battery fully charged battery. it turns over just wont crank there was a clicking noise before on the passenger side of car. thanks for your help

The clicking could be the starter relay for a start check it out Meantime I'll be taking
