My 1998 Mercedes E320 4matic, with 135,000 miles, the alarm will not deactivate with the insertion of the electronic key. The electronic key would not unlock doors, so I used the mechanical key and once I gained access the alarm went off and when I inserted the electronic key the alarm continued. I had to disconnect battery to abort alarm. How do I deactivate alarm?

Programming of the vehicles control module is necessary to deactivate the alarm. There are no manual ways to disarm this function. A MB Star diagnostic computer is necessary to complete this task.
