2003 Other Mercedes Benz Models 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My wifes A160 shows a "F" on the dash display where it usually shows if the car is in drive etc. when in "f" mode the car does not have any power. When the car is switched off, and restarted the problem is gone. This has happened twice?

Sounds like it is going into "limp" or "failsafe" mode.Have it checked out ASAP. This could be a problem with the trans or the engine management system. Either way it needs to be checked out
