i HAVE A 2000 E320 THAT THE SFIFT LOCKED UP AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK.AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS TO SHIFT IT SHIFTTED,BUT IT WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS OR SHOW ANY SHIFT READ OUT ON THE LCD IN THE DASH.THE VECHILE WOULD ONLY DRIVE IN FIRST GEAR.

You have a failed shift gate solenoid. This will eventually completely lock you out of your gears. This is a component that will need to be replaced at the dealer.
