Question 1
The car changes from drive to neutral at low speeds while turning sharp without anything touching the shift lever
Moving the lever has no effect - reverse works but nor drive
You have to turn car off then back on to get the car back in drive.

Question 2
When I fill the tank with gas, it ereads zero - after about 25 miles it reads normal. Any ideas

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

Both these problems i feel are electrical related, i would be thinking part of the loom for the transmission control system may be damaged through chafing on a bracket or body work and this is earthing out a signal to the transmission, as for the fuel sender, this may be a faulty sender unit in the tank i have seen this before in other makes of cars, very slow senders in the tank,

Have your Benz dealer or a trans specialist inspect the transmission problem.
