First of all thank you very much for your donation. There is no set time that a alternator last's it fail's when it fail's. Even if you have a Ferrari doesn't mean it is going to be more reliable then a chevy even. There is joke's about jaguar's that you have to be rich enough to buy two so when one is in the shop you will have another one to drive. Car's are machine's and there not perfect they break down. Water pump's fail when they fail no one can say for sure how long something will last. Some car's are known for some of there part's lasting a long time doesn't mean that there is not exception's to them failing sooner then the others. Another word's you never know when your car is going to break down and what is going to break next.
