1999 Mercedes Benz ML320 Transmission

When I press the gas there is a popping noise on the driver side. Is it the axle, joint, or transmission? Or is there something else casuing the problem?

Hello . thanks for the donation .. much appreciated

check the engine and transmission mounts, drive/axle shaft's, CV joints and suspension/steering mount's and bushing's/sway bar links etc.
