2004 Mercedes Benz E500 Keyless start

The key less entry works but not the key less start. I have replaced the batteries in the keys with no success. The system had always worked and one day just quit. Any troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen this before and it turned out to be a coding issue with the EIS (electronic ignition switch). I would recommend having your dealer look at it as coding can only be done with their equipment the MB Star diagnostic machine.
