1992 Mercedes Benz E420 Automatic 111000 miles

I have an old Mercedes that I haven't driven in a while. For some reason, it wouldn't start, I suspected dead battery. My cousin helped me charge the car for about 30 minutes, and it finally started. Now, the next day, it won't start again. It will attempt to start, but it won't turn over.

I am clueless when it comes to cars. I'm wondering if that is indeed the case of a dead battery that needs recharged/replaced, or some other reason.

Thanks

So the engine is cranking, just not starting up ? You will need to check the spark plugs to ensure they are getting healthy blue / white spark. Also check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail to ensure fuel is getting to the engine.

If you believe the battery needs replaced, have it tested. Most auto part stores will test your battery free of charge.

Yeah, I'm thinking of getting it tested at Autozone. I just need to find the car's security password since (from what I've been told) disconnecting the battery resets all that.

The car did start last night after about 30 minutes of charging it. I drove around the block and took it to a gas station to get some gas. It started after I was done filling up, much to my relief, so I'm thinking that maybe I didn't leave the car on long enough for it to charge the battery further. The car was running for only about 10 minutes after I finally started it. I know that wasn't enough time, but it was late and on short notice. Cops asked me to move my vehicle from the curb in front of my own house since it had not moved in two months.

I did not expect a reply to my question so soon, so thank you. I sincerely appreciate you taking your time to assist me. Thanks.
