The heater on my 1998 E320 stopped working. What is a typical reason for this failure?
Would it be the heater motor? Motor regulator? Or the entire assembly?

How hard it is to get parts and replace?

first place to start would be the blower motor fuse and blower motor relay. these are the cheapest and easiest to fix.. check them out and let me know how they test.
