heating system in this car doesnt seem to work. Is there a problem or do I not understand the instructions?

If you have dual zone air just adjusting the temp to 80 or 85 deg. Should kick on the heater. Keep in mind that a common issue with this vehicle is found in the heater exchange valve which when fails will cause only cool or cold air to come out of the vents.

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
