What would cause a screeching noise coming from back right wheel area. Brakes are good, I'm told emergency brakes are good as well.

Also, intermittent grinding coming from back right wheel.

can hitting curbs bend the axle and what are the symptoms of bent axle?

If you hit a curb hard enough, you may have bent a control arm...have the car looked at the screeching could be the tire wearing excessivly!
