1997 Mercedes Benz C230 80000 miles

My windshield wiper drags slowly across the windshield. Regardless of which speed I choose, this happens. The intermittent setting gets no response at all. What could be the problem? Can I repair it?

My '98 has been doing that for years, but it also does it in intermittent, so it may not be the same problem. I just turn on the wiper, then turn off the key when the wiper piston is fully extended. Get some silicone spray or grease and apply it to the piston. That usually works right away for me and may last 1-3 months. I keep the grease in the car.

this is an easy fix. the wiper arm is sticking inside the part that thrusts it up and down. spray a little WD-40 on the wiper arm and kep it ready in your truck.
these cars do this a lot...
