Hello there!
If I leave my car for more than 24 hours, the battery drains and the car won't start.
I am a novice at car repair and would like to find the source of the drain.
How would I go about finding the problem and what equipment wil I need?
Thanks for your help in advance.

First thing I would do is look under you drivers seat. If you have power seats, there will be a control module under there. Unplug this and do the same on the passenger side. Ensure you have the seat at a proper adjustment. If the drain goes away, then plug the passenger side in. If it doesnt drain, the your drivers seat control module is faulty. This is a common problem. Hope this helps. If this doenst work, you will need a amp clamp. You could find one at Sears for around $100. Open your hood and zero the amp clamp. Lock all doors and windows. Look both hood latches with as if the hood was closed but dont close the hood. If you have more than 100mAMPs draw, then you have a problem.
