Could anybody help in explaining how to remove the wing mirror outer casing to enable the replacement of the indicator unit

Put the mirror in the down position. Look behind the mirror and you will see a thin metal wire holding the mirror on. Lift this wire with a small screwdriver. This will relaese the mrrior and will give you access to the set screws for the indicator.
