I am having trouble starting my car. The engine runs when the gas is applied and will only stay running when the key to the ignition is held, so the engine will not sustain idle, when the key to ignition is let go, the engine shuts off. The car is fuel injected, and apparently has a computer. I have no idea what is wrong with it.

Sounds like the ignition circuit on the ignition switch is open, could also be an ignition fuse or relay
