Is it true that the '99 Mercedes 300 TD has a plastic casing? I was told that and that the radiator needs to be replaced. Is there a core value? What is an estimate for the radiator to be replaced? Thanks for any help.

That is correct, and if you were MacGyver. You would remove the radiator go to your local parts store purchase some epoxy. Designed especially to repair radiators (plastic) and go at it, and save yourself $500
