1982 Mercedes Benz 300sd Two Wheel Drive Automatic 250000 miles

how do you get the belt loose is there a secret bolt? i put a new alternator on it and cant get the pump belt loose to replace the alternator belts it loose but there seems to be something holding it i found 3 bolts to loosten the pump am i missimg 1 ?

Hello - I believe this what you are talking about. Tensioning V-belt A Alternator - coolant pump

1. Loosen nut (1) and screws (2 and 3).

2 Tension V-belt by means of nut (5) of tensioning screw (4). 3 Tighten nut (1) and screws (2 and 3). 4 Continue turning nut (5) by approx. 1/4 to 1/2 turn (to tight seat).
