1991 Mercedes Benz 300e fuel pumps

I have a 1991 Mercedes-bens 300E and it has two fuel pumps. I was wanting to know why dose it have to have two fuel pumps and can I run it with one fuel pump (one fuel pump is broken)

Hi there,

From what i see in Mitchell1 you need bothy pumps or you will not achieve the correct fuel pressure or flow to run the system.
