I recently purchased this vehicle and I replaced the throttle cable. I dont have a repair book and I am not a skilled mechanic. How do I adjust the throttle postition sensor or (TPS). I think this is part of the problem I having with the automatic trans or gear shifting & slipage in secound gear. I notice when I adjust the trottle cabe linkage it inproves or worsens this problem. I am unable to get it just rite. Do I need a ohmmeter?

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) ADJUSTMENT

Disconnect 3-pin TPS connector located near fuel pressure regulator. With throttle closed, connect an ohmmeter between Black wire and Brown wire. Ohmmeter should indicate continuity.
Open throttle to wide open throttle. Ohmmeter should indicate infinity. Connect ohmmeter between Brown wire and Green wire. With throttle closed, ohmmeter should indicate infinity.
Partially open throttle. Ohmmeter should indicate infinity. Open throttle to wide open throttle. Ohmmeter should indicate continuity. If ohmmeter does not read properly, loosen TPS adjustment screws. Adjust TPS to obtain proper ohmmeter readings.
