1992 Mercedes Benz 300d Two Wheel Drive Automatic 365000 miles

Hi when i press on the brake pedal it is very hard and you really have to press on it then you press it again and it works great.

it is not the brakes it is the vacuum pump on the engine that has malfunctioned
