What is the normal gauge temperature for 1997 Mercedes C 280?

I did not get 80 in the past but now my mechanic after changing the thermostat and flushing the cooling system says that 90 is just normal.

These are both with in the acceptable range for this vehicle. The new thermostat may be reading more accurately than the past as well. Also this thermostat may be set a little different than the OEM based off of updated parts and refinements made to the original part since production.
