I have an 88 MercBenz 260e. they both have the same engine with only a few minor changes from 87 to 88. you just need a funnel and pour it in where the tranny dipstick goes. i cant say for sure if this is the correct way to do it but i did it and ive put over 15,000 miles on it and did two big trips from ft.hood, texas to baltimore, md and then from baltimore,md to oklahoma city, ok. ive had no problems since then. its an automatic with 155,000 miles but the odometer never worked when i got the car 8 months ago. good luck. always research research and research some more.
