Will Mercedes 300sd auto trans. bolt up and work on a 1981 240d? Local salvage yard says will work.??

the Mercedes 300 & 240 have an aluminum plate behind the flex plate if that plate is identical it will work if not you will have to replace the aluminum plate so the transmission can both up.
