1996 Mercedes Benz 220cdi 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic alot miles

i have a mercedes 220c and it will crank anf fire once or twice but wont stay running i was told it may be the crank position sensor or the cam position sensor so i purchased both of them and installed the cam position sensor but cant find the crank position sensor if you could tell me its location and give any other advise on its problem i would be greatful

according to the Mitchell1 on demand manuals, it does not specify that a "crank position sensor" exists, but if it does, you will find it down by the harmonic balancer, or at the rear of the engine on the bell housing, since you have one in your possession you know what it looks like.
